PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO TO HIRE IN ESSEX
The Glass Factory Studio is a sizeable photography and video studio available to hire near Southend, Essex, just one hour drive or train outside of London.
The studio boasts a very large infinity cove (cyclorama), perfect for shooting photos and videos. The cove measures 7.1m x 5.1m x 4m (LxWxH) there are roll-up shutters easily accessible via a ramp which allows subjects to be photographed and filmed up to the size of a small truck.
In the studio it’s possible to host everything from food, product, to model portraits right the way through to car photography and even large enough for equestrian photography!
In addition to our infinity cove we have a wide range of shades and colours of Colorama backdrops in stock. Any particular hues can be ordered in with prior arrangement.
The studio offers a lot of natural light but we also classify ourselves as a blackout studio as we have blackout blinds and curtains available. Find out more about the studio here.
We have Profoto lighting and modifiers, softboxs, tripods and stands etc. commercial wind machine and smoke machine amongst many other items of kit.

The Glass Factory Studio
The Glass Factory Studio is an extremely versatile space and can be equipped for every shoot.
We have 4 x makeup stations, a steamer, clothes rail & changing area, a fully functioning kitchen, toilet & shower facilities. There is also an editing suite and a cosy vintage feel client area.
Quality printing of any size up to A1, via our Epson P7000 Surecolour Printer is also available on-site. (Heritage fine art papers are available on request).
A fully equipped black and white analogue darkroom with film processing capabilities from 35mm to 10 x 8 sheet film is addition to the space. The darkroom is equipped with 2 DeVere enlargers (54 and 108), capable of printing negatives up to and including 10 x 8 sheet film.
Located just outside Southend on the East Coast of Essex, we are a 10 minute drive from Rayleigh train station and a 12 minute drive from Leigh-on-Sea train station. Both have direct links to London Liverpool Street and London Fenchurch Street, respectively (approx 40 mins journey time).
We also have 4-6 x dedicated car parking spaces available.

The studio was designed and built by professional photographer Graham Cann, who’s made sure it ticks all of the boxes.

The studio provides space for filming small productions. The ability to black out the windows offers flexibility for a range of video shoots.
The flexibility of the space also allows building of sets from simple to elaborate – get in touch with us to discuss your shoot requirements, we can even arrange design and build.

If you’re just starting out in videography, the studio is a great place to learn the art of studio video production, hone skills and explore options.

We have a 45 amp dedicated power supply with a 16 amp splitter box and ample 240 volt lighting sockets.
3.5m Roller Shutter
Our huge roller shutter allows large subjects to be brought into the studio, including cars, horses and other large animals.
Client Area
We have a large client area with sofas, tea & coffee making facilities, magazines and free WiFi.
Outside Space
We have a large outside space for you and your clients to relax in, in the sun.
